Revision of Bryconamericus (Characiformes, Characidae) from Pacific coastal and Amazon River drainages with descriptions of three new species

We report the results of a taxonomic revision species Bryconamericus from Amazon River Basin Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Pacific coastal rivers Peru. Based on morphological analyses, four valid are recognized: B. bolivianus Pearson 1924, osgoodi Eigenmann & Allen 1942, pachacuti 1927 phoenicopterus (Cope 1872). Three new described: lambayequensis sp. n. Cañariaco River, coast, Peru two Basin: abalio Ucayali drainage, parapetiensis Itenez/Parapeti, Amazonia, Bolivia. Two synonymized one was recently assigned to another genus: alfredae is considered junior synonym Acrobrycon ipanquianus; grosvenori bolivianus. A key these comments conservation status Amazonian coast freshwater ichthyofauna also included.

A freshwater fish Roeboides loftini n.sp. is described from the Río Coclé del Norte drainage of the Atlantic versant of Panamá. The new species differs from other species of the Roeboides guatemalensis-group by the number of perforated scales on the lateral line (83-100), body depth (31.8-36.1%), predorsal distance (49.1-51.9%) and the shape of the humeral spot.
